Peppermint is by far one of my favorite essential oils. I love Peppermint or as I like to call it… “Instant Jazz Hands” Just one drop of Peppermint essential oil = 28 cups of peppermint tea.
I use it internally to freshen my breath, on the back of my neck to cool, on my head for tension and anywhere on my body to help relieve discomfort. It’s a wonderful oil to open sinuses and helps me and my kids focus!
Some other amazing benefits:
Reduces body temperatures
Add a few drops to back of the neck mixed with a carrier oil to dilute. You can also add 5-10 drops to a 2oz glass spray bottle and spray on body during a hot day, during a hot flash or after too much sun.
Increases memory retention
Just by diffusing or inhaling peppermint, it can help stimulate your brain and help with focus and memory.
Promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing
Add one drop of peppermint to your hands, rub together and inhale. Get ready to feel like you are in the Swiss Alps! Add a few drops to bottoms of feet to help invigorate and open lungs during a run/walk or sporting event. Mix 1-2 drops peppermint to 3-4 drops carrier oil and rub on chest or on back to open airways.
Alleviates occasional stomach upset and queasiness
Add 1 drop to a glass of water to help with stomach upset, rub 1 drop mixed with a carrier oil on tummy OR just inhale essential oil out of the bottle or rub in hands to inhale to help with queasiness.
Many mints and gum on the market today are toxic and filled with artificial sweeteners, colors and flavors. Peppermint is an amazing non-toxic breath freshener! Just one drop and you breath is fresh as a daisy!
